ALEXANDER THE GREAT (Alejandro el Magno)
In 2025, Tamás Náray will once again depict great historical times and great historical events on canvas. The unique and powerful figure of Alexander the Great, the defining battles, conquests, and loves of his life will come to life under the painter's brush.
Alexander III, commonly known as Alexander the Great, in Persian Szikandar or Iskander; was born in the city of Pella on July 25-30, 356 BC under the sign of Leo. He died in Babylon on June 10, 323 BC, having lived only 33 years, like Christ, and left a tremendous life achievement for posterity.
First king of Macedonia, then Pharaoh of Egypt and Great King of Persia. Following in the footsteps of his father, Philip II, he extended his power from the Peloponnese to the Indian subcontinent, occupying much of the world known to the Greeks at the time.
His short but successful reign marked the beginning of a new era in classical ancient history and culture, the Hellenistic period.
Until the age of Napoleon, Alexander was considered the most famous general in world history for Europeans, but his fame remains great even today, and he is regarded as the second greatest icon of military leadership.
In 2025, Tamás Náray will once again depict great historical times and major historical events on canvas. The unique and powerful figure of Alexander the Great, the defining battles, conquests, and loves of his life will come alive through the artist's brush.
The exhibition covering the entire collection is expected to be presented to visitors in the autumn of 2025.

Tamás Náray is a colorist painter. His works represent the abstract expressionist style. He began his career in foreign trade, then spent several years in Paris on a scholarship to learn the art of fashion design. He brought his knowledge back to Hungary and spent 30 years in the fashion industry, where he established his own brand and became an internationally recognized master of his profession. Alongside fashion, he had already been engaged in painting for 20 years when he introduced himself to the public in 2016 with the exhibition titled "Koridor." Since then, every year the audience could see his latest oil paintings at new exhibitions, showcasing his personal artistic development from early figurative compositions to today's abstract-expressionist pieces. In addition to painting, he has also been writing since 2013, with great success. By the end of the 2010s, painting and writing became his defining forms of self-expression. In 2019, he moved to Spain, near Barcelona.
