We are pleased to present Náray Tamás’s latest painting series titled 'Light'.
The newest works explore and depict the presence of brightness in space and time, its power and transformative effect through rich painterly gestures, densely layered surfaces, and refined use of materials.
In the paintings, light becomes an independent quality: it simultaneously creates space, a sense of absence, direction, calm, and inner tension. Color fields that come alive from behind the golden surfaces and flow into opalescence, along with decisive structures, convey the experience of passage between the visible and the invisible inner world, while the compositions also open up emotional and intellectual realms.

Tamás Náray is a colorist painter. His works represent the abstract expressionist style. He began his career in foreign trade, then spent several years in Paris on a scholarship to learn the art of fashion design. He brought his knowledge back to Hungary and spent 30 years in the fashion industry, where he established his own trademark and became an internationally recognized master of his profession. Alongside fashion, he had been engaged in painting for 20 years when he debuted to the public in 2016 with the exhibition titled "Corridor". After that, every year the public could see his latest oil paintings at new exhibitions, presenting his personal artistic development from early figurative compositions to today’s abstract-expressionist pieces. In addition to painting, he has also been writing since 2013, with great success. By the end of the 2010s, painting and writing became his defining forms of self-expression. In 2019, he moved to Spain, near Barcelona.
